PhD Admissions (January 2022)

Corrigendum A valid GATE / equivalent national level test score is a desirable requirement for all departments. However, Applicants who have not qualified in GATE/equivalent national level test are also eligible to apply for PhD programme

Addendum (1) under updated information brochure - 3.5 For the category 3.1.b, Full-Time Externally - funded research scholars : A total of 14 fellowships are available from TCS Foundation for students selected in the departments of CA, CSE, ECE, EEE, and ICE. These students shall be working for their research tenure at NIT Tiruchirappalli. However, the fellowship from TCS foundation to the selected candidates is available for 3 years only, from the date of registration; no financial assistance is available thereafter. For more details on additional eligibility criteria please refer to section 4.18 of updated information brochure. Interested applicants may indicate this in their application.

Addendum (2) Updated basic eligibility criteria for Management Studies:
CAT/ UGC-NET / XAT/ MAT/ GMAT/GATE score obtained in the last five years, from the closing date of NIT Trichy Ph.d application form for all applicants under HTRA category.

1 Please read the updated information brochure before Registration. Download it for ready reference.
2 Applicants with UG and PG degrees (including those currently in their final semester of PG degree and expecting PG degrees awarded in 2021) can apply, similarly, Applicants currently in their final semester (2017-2021 batch) of their B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. degree programme, and are expected to get their bachelors’ degrees awarded in 2021 can also apply
3 Application fees should be paid through State Bank I-Collect before the deadline. You will have to submit the Challan number in the application form. Processing fee will be as per the number of departments applicant has applied to. If applied to 2 departments, application will be 2 x (Application fee per department according to category). Eg. If OC/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS: Rs.2000 (2 x Rs.1000) If SC/ST/PwD: Rs.1000 (2 x Rs.500)
4 If any information given in the application is found incorrect, the application will be rejected.
5 Use Google Chrome for better experience
6 Candidates are instructed to send the softcopy (PDF) of their finally submitted application (without enclosures) to with mail subject: PhD Application Jan 22 - UserID

Payment of Application Fees
1. Application processing fees per department preference for OC/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS is Rs. 1000
2. Application processing fees per department preference for SC/ST/PwD is Rs. 500
3. Application processing fees should be paid through State Bank I-Collect
